Everything you always wanted to know about Microchipping and more besides

WHAT IS A MICROCHIP AND HOW DOES IT WORK ?

A microchip is a small transponder implanted into your dog, it contains no moving parts or batteries. When scanned by a special scanner the transponder is excited and responds with its own unique signal.

The transponders that we use are 11.5mm long and is about 4mm in diameter. There are no toxic substances as the ID-162 microchip uses gold bumps and not lead solder.

All our microchips are registered with Petlog, the Kennel Clubs Pet Identification Service.

Petlog gives you:

24 hours a day, 7 days a week reunification service

A fully staffed helpline

The only UK member of the European Pet Network. That means if your pet is found in Europe, authorised agencies can help to bring you and your pet back together

HOW IS IT IMPLANTED ?

The microchip is implanted into the soft tissue just behind and between your dogs shoulder blades using a simple implanter gun.

It only takes seconds to implant the microchip into your dog.

All of our puppies leave us microchipped, however if you have any other dogs that you need microchipping we can do that for you as well. we are fully trained and insurred to carry out this work. Just contact us via email (breakerswell@btinternet.com) for a quote.
